Novus Base Metals Ltd. Intersects Near-Surface High-Grade Zinc-Lead Mineralization at the Thalanga Trend, Including 8.45 m @ 4.21% Zn + 1.10% Pb
OAKDALE, QLD, Australia – November 19, 2025 – Novus Base Metals Ltd. (“Novus” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce initial assay results from its maiden drill campaign along the Thalanga mineralized trend, part of its Mt Windsor VMS project in north Queensland. A total of six reverse-circulation (RC) holes tested structural extensions of known Thalanga lenses, targeting potential near-surface supergene and primary sulphide zones.
Highlights
- Drill hole NW-25-003 intersected 8.45 metres at 4.21% zinc and 1.10% lead, from 45.2 m down-hole, in a chalcocite-rich brecciated domain.
- Hole NW-25-006, located 150 m along strike to the north, returned 22.30 m at 1.25% zinc and 0.35% lead from 38.0 m, including a higher-grade sub-interval of 4.70 m @ 2.80% Zn + 0.75% Pb.
- A supergene enrichment blanket was intersected at shallow depths (~10–30 m) in three holes, with malachite, smithsonite, and cerussite observed in logged samples, indicating surface weathering of sulphide mineralization.
- Sulphide mineralization persists at depth with primary sphalerite-galena zones still open along both strike and down dip.
Commentary from Leadership
Novus Managing Director, Laura Westridge, commented:
“These first drilling results provide highly encouraging evidence of continuous, high-grade zinc-lead mineralization along strike from the historic Thalanga mine workings. The supergene enrichment we’re seeing near surface could support early-stage production, while the primary sulphide zones at depth suggest real potential for a meaningful resource build. Our geological team believes we are just scratching the surface of a larger VMS-style system, and we look forward to step-out drilling in 2026 to expand the footprint.”
Next Steps
Novus is planning a follow-up program in Q1 2026, comprising:
1. 3,000 m of infill RC drilling to define the geometry and continuity of the supergene blanket.
2. Deep diamond drilling (up to 400 m) to test primary sulphide zones below the supergene.
3. Geophysical surveying (VTEM + down-hole EM) to refine targets along strike and at depth.
4. Metallurgical test-work to assess the potential for oxide-lead-zinc leaching and sulphide flotation.
